Lisa Dawn White
Full Moon Flower Farm

Lisa Dawn White has always been inspired by nature and its expressions in the landscape. Her collages are created with flowers, leaves, bark, moss, feathers and other organic materials. By incorporating watercolor, acrylic and pastels, along with home-made papers, Lisa's collages offer a contemporary interpretation on an ancient art-form.

A whimsical interpretation of nature is one of the most important elements in each of her pieces. Lisa is drawn to collage and assemblage because it represents a medium that doesn't require a defined beginning or end, but rather offer's an experience of being in the now-linking directly to the creative source while at least attempting to suspend judgment...many of her favorite works are bits and pieces of other pieces that were previously less favored.

Lisa is often asked if she grows all of the flowers that she uses in her collages-while she grows many of them in her Central Pennsylvania garden, she is proud to be an opportunist and gatherer and enjoys expeditions that take her (and her 4-legged sidekick) to gardens, forests, meadows and roadsides throughout much of the year — even winter offers an abundance of plant materials such as seed pods and grass flowers.

Lisa's academic background is in Anthropology and Horticulture, and she holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in these subjects respectively. In addition to her degrees, she has also undertaken extensive training in the practice of Homeopathy.

Lisa's studio at Full Moon Flower Farm is located in the historic village of Pine Grove Mills, just outside State College, Pennsylvania. She offers garden and studio visits by appointment.
